Technology Self-Assesment: School 2.0

The module I've chosen to read about was Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership. In this module, there was an article written by David Warlick.  David was a former classroom teacher, author, programmer and public speaker. The article he wrote was titled, "Grow Your Personal Learning Network." Personal learning networks or PLNs are basically a group of friends, colleagues and acquaitances  to supplement our knowledge about the world.  As educators, its important that we maintain a current and relevant PLN so that we can always improve our ways of teaching.  Within the article, there were tips on creating your own PLN, and how tools such as RSS Feeds would help you expand your PLN. An important tool that every educator should use is a RSS aggregators such as Google Reader, Netvibes and Pageflakes.  An RSS aggregator  finds and organizes information that you subscribe to, then syncs to your account. The RSS is constantly retrieving information and you can read the information at your convience. Through online tools such as Diigo, Twitter and RSS aggregators, educators can retrieve resources that is personalized to their needs in one central location.
